Welcome to the Machine Vision Online Workshop Series

This workshop series is divided into four modules as follows:

Module 1: Scene Constraints

Module 2: Machine Vision Lighting

Module 3: Machine Vision Optics

Module 4: Machine Vision Cameras

Each module will take four hours to complete. See below to find out what you will learn in each module.

Module 1: Scene Constraints

Objective of module:

Learn how to simplify machine vision solutions by exploiting existing constraints within the vision system and imposing new constraints

What you will learn:

The generic vision system model

What is meant by 'feature of interest'

What is meant by ‘scene constraint’

What are the principal aims of scene constraint

What is the difference between exploited and imposed constraints

How do constraints simplify machine vision solutions

What type of constraints can be exploited

What type of constraints can be imposed

How do we exploit existing constraints and/or impose new ones

Course content:

The generic machine vision model

Principal aims of scene constraints

Exploited vs. imposed constraints

Methods of exploitation of constraints

Methods of imposition of constraints

Activity 1 : Human as the ultimate machine vision system

Activity 2 : Simplify the machine vision problem

Activity 3a,b,c,d,e : Identify the constraints that can be exploited and/or imposed

Activity 4 : Suggest improvements to an existing machine vision system

Activity 5 : Simplify machine vision problem

Module 1 learning self-assessment

Duration: 4 hours (9.00 am to 1.00 pm)

Course fee: RM 500/pax (limited to maximum of 5 participants only!)

Method of delivery:

This workshop will be conducted 100% online via Zoom or Webex. Participants are expected to dedicate 4 hours to this module without interruptions. If interruptions are expected, participants are advised to choose the training on a different day when they are free. Since the workshop is highly interactive the participant should ensure that he/she has a microphone and webcam ready well before the workshop. Participants are expected to give feedback and interact with the trainer throughout the workshop.
